The most well known book in relation to laetrile is probably “World Without Cancer” by G. Edward Griffin, an investigative journalist. First printed in 1974 the book has undergone numerous reprintings up to the latest in 2003. The book explains the history of amygdalin and laetrile and the way in which laetrile works. He discusses the reaction of the medical profession to it and the ineffectiveness of orthodox cancer treatments. The second half of the book explores the pharmaceutical industry and its heavy investment in the current practice of treatment by drugs. The book includes 9 case histories of people who had a positive experience with laetrile including a woman who was living a healthy and productive life 9 years after her doctor told her she couldn’t possibly live longer than 12 weeks without further surgery. She previously had a tumour removed from her left leg just below the thigh. In 1975 a 55 year old man developed leukemia plus cancer of the spleen and liver. After removal of the spleen he was told that he had at best a few more months to live. Although chemotherapy was recommended, not as a cure but to delay death a few more weeks, he turned to laetrile instead. 20 years later at the age of 75 he was doing pushups and exercises without tiring and playing racquet ball twice a week.
